The Girl Really Loves Her Carbs

Baby food is now pretty much a thing of the past in our house. Caroline really only wants to eat things she can pick up with her hands. And she really, really loves carbs! Here are a few shots of her eating some alfredo pasta tonight.

The green thing on her head is a piece of spinach!

I mean she was really, really serious about this pasta.

In my wildest "mommy moments" dreams I never thought I'd actually laugh at a mess like this, much less take pictures. Caroline has mellowed her mommy for sure. Needless to say, we had to go straight to bathtime after this. She had so much alfredo sauce in her hair the water turned cloudy! I only wish I had gotten a photo of the fingerpainting she made on her high chair out of the sauce.

Two Big Choppers, Hairstyling, and Picture Ops

I borrowed my sister's camera yesterday and have literally not stopped taking pictures all weekend.

Caroline is really so helpful with the household chores. Here she is "helping" with the laundry. . .

. . . and here she is rearranging the dining room chairs for me! (She prefers them scattered throughout the dining room instead of at the table.)

I love that you can see the two big 'ole teeth Caroline has now when she smiles this cheesy smile. I think she has a few more coming in, but what she does with just these two is nothing short of amazing. She can devour a piece of pizza crust in no time flat and wheat crackers don't stand a chance against her.

I had some fun playing with hairstyles this morning, although it was business as usual for Caroline.

This is a new toy from Grandma Wright that is also a current favorite.

She's starting to walk more and more, stringing more steps together. I think she has figured out it's a little quicker than crawling.

Thank You, Thank You Whoever You Are

I really don't know who gave Caroline the toy that she is playing with in these photos, but I'll tell you . . . next to the music table that gets her grooving as you saw in a previous post, these are her all time favorite things to play with. They are intended to be stacked biggest to smallest with a little ball on top, but they are oh so much more to Caroline. So, thank you to the giver of the gift that has still not stopped giving hours of enjoyment!

The House of Chuck, Part Two

On our second visit to Chuck's place, Caroline found a friend!

We were there with Grandpa and the Wolfes to try to get one more celebration in before school starts again and we are all too busy to enjoy days like this. Here are some more photos of the fun!

She's Got the Music In Her!

While the moves definitely need some refining, Caroline loves to dance when she hears music.

Cooking 101

Recently we have begun to join the "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em school of parenting", and we loaded all lower cabinets and drawers in the kitchen (the ones we couldn't put locks on) with various things Caroline could play with. Of course, we both (or maybe just me, Kevin seems to be much more realistic about these things) had visions of us doing our domestic thing in the kitchen while she happily sat with various bowls and spoons being precious. It's nice, but not the beautiful picture I imagined, as usually she ends up right where I need to be. And then there's the fact that she can find a certain metal cake pan no matter where we put it, and delights in alternately banging it on the ceramic tyle and throwing it into the air to hear the loud bang it makes when it falls. I guess you can't win them all. Here's a short clip of her first day with her new "toys".

Remind anyone of the story of my 4H demo in grade school???

Another Milestone - Louisiana Style

Tonight was Caroline's first visit to Randol's. She liked the music a lot, but couldn't really find her beat at first. When we went back to the table, she found it - and she danced right through her dinner!
